The IPL is a professional cricket league consisting of ten teams: Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Kings XI Punjab, Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Lucknow Super Giants, and Gujrat Titans. The governing council also announced that there will be no opening ceremony before the first match of the season. The reason for this decision was given as to avoid crowd gatherings amid the COVID-19 pandemic in India. However, there will be an opening ceremony just before the first playoff match.
