Farscape is a Syfy TV show that aired from 1999-2003. The show follows the adventures of John Crichton, an American astronaut who is unintentionally sent to a distant part of the universe. There, he joins a crew of escaped prisoners on board a living ship called Moya. Together, they try to find a way back to Earth while evading capture by the Peacekeepers, a militaristic organization bent on controlling the universe.
Farscape is an ensemble-driven show, with each character having a unique backstory and personality. The show’s writers did a great job of developing the characters over the course of the show’s four seasons. Farscape also explores some interesting sci-fi concepts, like parallel universes, omnipotent aliens, and space bugs. If you’re a fan of Firefly, then you’ll definitely enjoy Farscape.
