Proven Fixes to Your Organization’s Data Cannot be Pasted Here

The error ‘Your organization’s data cannot be pasted here’ is what you face when you are trying to copy data from Outlook to any other application installed on your device. This is a Microsoft Intune feature and can be found in Microsoft Intune Policy Management. The “Paste” icon allows you to copy data from one application to another. In order to paste the data, you must first make sure that the application is running in the foreground. By default, the Intune application will not paste data to the clipboard if there is no active application running in the foreground. However, it is possible to manually override this behavior by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Y while the application is running in the foreground.

The Intune Organization Policy Management feature allows you to add, edit, remove and list policies for an organization. You can use these policies to control how your organization interacts with data in the cloud. For example, when users turn off their computer, certain settings in Intune are automatically disabled. These settings are designed to prevent users from accidentally deleting or overwriting their files.

This action is solely the result of your Microsoft Intune policies, which prevent users from replication of information for security reasons. While this can be changed in the policies, there may be times, which sometimes happen when you encounter the error message while copying data to an authorized app. People do not expect such a message when taking information from an authorized site. Therefore, Microsoft Intune permits the user to set policies so that you can copy data to a specifically authorized app if you want to, while the rest are restricted or simply blocked. This is a safety feature from Microsoft which tries to keep the working platform as legal as possible.

In case you are getting these messages on all sites then, the problem could be caused by an outdated version of the Outlook application on your device. To get over this you will need to install the most recent updates to resolve the problem. This is a small process and can be done fairly easily.  With all that being said, let us move ahead and get started by demonstrating a feature on your device that you can modify to meet your specific needs in order to resolve this issue. The procedure is short and simple, you just have to follow the instructions step by step and carefully to fix your organization’s data cannot be pasted here error.

Steps to Update Microsoft Intune Data Relocation Policy-

The error message in question, as previously stated, is generated because of your Microsoft Intune policies. This behavior is influenced by the Data Protection policy, which can be found under App Protection. You won’t be able to copy data between apps if the Restrict cut, copy, and paste between other apps feature is set to block.  And that is the reason because of which the aforementioned error message appears. This, however, has no effect on protected apps, so you can freely copy data between them.

Furthermore, it can be designed to accept data copying for specific apps. Follow the steps below to double-check your policies:

NOTE: If the problem is with your computer or laptop/notebook, you can use Restore Repair to scan the repositories and replace corrupt and missing files. This works in the majority of cases where the problem is caused by system corruption.

1. Let’s start with the procedure by going to your Microsoft Intune dashboard on your device. (Also please make sure that your device is connected to a strong and stable internet connection).

2. On the left-hand side of the dashboard page, you will see the Client apps. Click on it.

3. Now go to App protection policies from the left-hand pane on the Client apps screen.

4. By selecting the App protection policies you will get a list of policies. Please go through them carefully and click on the policy that is installed on your device from the list of policies to edit it. If you don’t find the policy you were looking for, then you can also create a new policy for this by clicking the Create policy button.

5. Change the Restrict cut, copy, and paste between other apps setting under Data Transfer to suit your needs. This is a simple task. Just keep following the prompting instructions (if any) to complete the process.

6. However, if you are creating a new policy, you will be asked to provide additional information such as the Platform. Furthermore, the feature in question can be found under the Settings section.

7. After going into the settings section select the Data protection option. You will again get a list of options. From there select the Data Transfer tab.

8. Once you have created the policy as per your need, just click on the ‘OK’ button to save it. That’s it. You have completed the process successfully.

After completing the whole process, depending on how you have changed your policy configuration earlier, you should be able to copy data between apps. If you create a new policy, you must assign it to the appropriate groups. Furthermore, if you are still experiencing problems when copying data between protected apps, ensure that the app is up to date. In some cases, the problem is caused by a Microsoft bug and can be resolved with a simple update.

To copy and paste using your iPhone or iPad, follow these steps:

• Tap and hold on to the text (or any information) you want to copy.
• Hit and drag the blue circle on the left and right to highlight the information you want, then tap Copy.
• Go to the application (Notes, Mail, Messages, etc.)
• Tap and hold, then paste.
