How to Install Popcorn Time on Firestick or Fire TV?

How to Install the Popcorn Time App on a FireStick and Use It?

You’ve probably noticed that when you install an app, it doesn’t display on your FireStick’s home screen. The new apps can be found in the section Your Apps & Channels. 

To get on Popcorn Time and move it to the home screen, follow the instructions below:

  1. Push down the Home button on your remote until a new full-screen window appears.
  2. To go to Your Apps & Channels, select Apps.
  3. Choose the Popcorn Time app icon at the bottom of the page.
  4. You can now launch the app from this location. Go to the following step if you wish to move Popcorn Time to the top of the main screen.
  5. On the remote, press the menu button.
  6. Once you get this window (picture below) on the bottom right, select Move (or you may tap: Move to Front to place the app as the first item in the first row ahead of all other apps).
  1. To get the Popcorn Time app to appear on the FireStick home screen, move it to one of the top three rows.

Let’s take a look at Popcorn Time. When you open Popcorn Time, you may notice a prompt urging you to share the program with others. If you want to share it, select Share, or use the back button on the remote to return to the app’s main screen.

You must have already downloaded and installed ES File Explorer from the Amazon Store. Next, using ES File Explorer, follow these instructions to install Popcorn Time on your FireStick / Fire TV device:

  1. Once running ES File Explorer, select the Downloader icon on the right side of the window (as you see in the image below)

  1. You should now see a dialogue window with two empty text fields titled Download. Type the path https://www.firesticktricks.com/pct in the Path field.

Input any name you like in the Name area (it won’t affect the outcome). For example, you typed in PT. Click the “Download Now” button.

  1. Access the server with ES File Explorer and download the Popcorn Time APK. It will just take a few minutes, but not much longer.

Yes, the Popcorn Time software was successfully installed by using ES File Explorer app. If you wish to run the Popcorn Time app, simply click Open. If you want to return to ES File Explorer and delete the Popcorn Time APK file, click Done.

  • On the left, select the Local menu.
