How to Watch Facebook on Roku Streaming Devices

Do you want to get Facebook on Roku?  Even though the official Facebook app was removed from the popular streaming gadget years ago, social media material from Facebook is still available on Roku. If you are trying to find Facebook on Roku, then you must have gotten disappointed because Facebook is not available directly on Roku. So what’s the other way round? Let’s discuss this in this post.

Facebook is a well-known platform enjoyed by a large population. Almost everyone who has ever used the internet has a Facebook account. You can share your photographs, videos, and opinions with your Facebook friends. Not only that, but you can also message, call (both voice and video), and watch various videos.

You can get Facebook on your Roku by casting from your computer or phone. Download the “WebCast Video” app for your phone, then use the URL browser to launch Facebook or Facebook Watch. For PC users, enable “screen mirroring” in Roku and cast using the “Connection” options in Windows. You may also use Google Chromecast or Airserver to cast Facebook Watch from Windows or Mac to Roku. We’ll also go over some more ways to use Facebook on your Mac or Roku. You may already be familiar that Facebook is available on Roku, but not through the official channels users can download. Casting or screen mirroring will be the only options until Roku and Facebook agree on an official app… that may never occur! 

How to watch Facebook on Roku?

As previously stated, there is no official or unauthorized Facebook channel for Roku, so we must use the screen-sharing way to use it. Are you unsure what Screen Sharing is? It mirrors your screen from your phone or computer to your Roku device so you can watch Facebook videos.

Follow the instructions below if you don’t know how to mirror your device to Roku.

Screen mirroring is not supported by all Roku devices. The following gadgets can only reflect the screen.

  • Roku Express: is only supported on model 3900 (released in 2017), not the device 3700.
  • Roku Express+: Screen mirroring is only supported on the HDMI output on the model 3910 (released in 2017), not on the composite or A/V output.

Follow these steps to enjoy Facebook on a Roku streaming device 

  1. Make sure Roku is upgraded

To screen share your device to Roku to watch Facebook videos, you must first upgrade your Roku device to the most recent version. If you haven’t upgraded your Roku device, you may experience the same issues that we had with Netflix in our earlier article. Follow the instructions below to update Roku to the current version. 

  • Go to the home screen of your Roku device and select settings from there.
  • Go to System once you’re in settings.
  • Go to “System update” in the system and see if any updates are available. If you notice any updates, you should update your Roku device. If your system is current, you can go to the next stage.
  1. To access Facebook on Roku, mirror your device

Once you’ve confirmed that your Roku device is up to date, you’re ready to share or mirror your screen. Follow the steps below to mirror your device:

  • Go to your Roku’s home screen and then to settings. You’ll see something like this when you’re in the setting.
  • Go to “System” in Settings. We did the same thing while looking for system updates.
  • Go to “Screen Mirroring” directly above the System Update option once you’re in the system.
  • On the right, there are three options: “Prompt,” “Always Allow,” and “Never Allow.” Selecting any of the options directly below the screen will show you what will happen. If you are at ease, select “Always allow” so that the screen mirroring process will be quick and simple in the future.

Android Roku Screen Mirror

It’s much easier to mirror your Android handset to watch Facebook videos on Roku than it is on other devices. If you have an Android device that is older than 4.0 and is not a Google-branded device with OS 6.0 or later, such as a Google Nexus or Pixel, you can mirror the screen by pressing a built-in button on the screen. Any of the buttons listed below may appear on your Android- Smart View, Quick Connect, SmartShare, AllShare Cast, Wireless Display, Display mirroring, HTC Connect, Screencasting, and Cast. 

When you click on any of the buttons below, your Roku device will appear. Simply select it and you’re ready to go. The Roku gadget mirrors your screen.

Roku Screen Mirror for IOS to Watch Facebook on Roku

If you’re using an iPhone or iPad, the screen mirroring option is slightly different. To watch Facebook on Roku, follow the steps below to mirror your screen from IOS to Roku.

  • Follow this link to get the Roku iOS app from the App Store.
  • Open the app once it has been downloaded and installed on your iOS device.
  • After you’ve opened the Roku app, press the Media button on the app’s button section.
  • After you’ve selected the Media choice. The “Connect” button is still visible. Now you have to tap on the option Connect.
